Ms. Smitty B is a Producer and Camerawoman with a gift for sharing technology. B began her career in media working as a Camera Assistant on music videos. Moving up the production food chain, she worked as a grip and electrician and eventually secured work as a Camerawoman and a Writer/Producer. B is also an Educator. She has taught at a wide range of programs – working with children as young as 8, teens, and adults to create short films and photography projects. She has a special aptitude for teaching video production to students from traditionally underserved backgrounds and with disabilities. In 1997, B founded Community Bridge Video, a company dedicated to producing videos in partnership with non-profits and community based organizations. She is a former intern at Panavision, a graduate of Film Independent’s Project Involve program and a former Artist in Residence at the Skid Row Housing Trust. She has an MFA in Film & Video Production from the University of Southern California and a BA in Spanish and Education from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.
